I'm very happy that Tigran finally decided to record an album of his own after many years with his singing experience. I still remember from his early works the nice duet with Shushan Petrossyan "Yek yerazenk (Ko apaka)" by Arthur Grygoryan.
This CD suits all kind of people's tastes;
Who wants to listen to love songs, this is it.
Who wants to dance, this is it too.
Who wants to enjoy, again this is it.
And who wants to have something more, to listen to something different, go straight to tracks number 5 & 9, "Mnam havet" & "Kez Hamar".
Speaking about quality, the best recording, editing and mixing qualities you will find here.
The album "To whom" contains Great lyrics, *****eous music, warm voice and brilliant performances, what we want more?? It is one of the best cds of 2006 and I'm happy to have a signed copy from the artist himself…:) :) :)
Um
I always believed that this song has a story behind it.
It is a great love song, people like this kind of songs, good lyrics, a warm voice, plus Hayko wrote a great music there. I like the song when it reaches to its climax, especially in the phrase "Mi luys desa hervum.." you can feel a strong manhood in Tigran's voice, this part in the video clip is nice too, I remember when he threw away the apple with a special look in his eyes. An amazing song, I recommend it for everybody.
Im Hokin
I don't know why this track keeps reminding me of G*****e Benson's old album "While the city sleeps" and especially the bass guitar solo during Tigran's improvisation.
The lyrics of this song come through the artist voice strongly, fresh but in the meantime sincere. There is a huge feeling of freedom to Life and Love, looks like he was waiting for a long time and now its time to sing this tune.
A very nice song to be performed live in a Big Band concert.
Tariner
A perfect combination of everything, yes everything is perfect here. The lyrics with the music, the big band with both the electric and bass guitars, the leading vocals with the back vocals, and all together with the drums.
You can feel the perfection in the chorus phrase, exactly while singing the notes in the word pa-tu-han-ne-re, the up going notes of the trumpets accompany both Tigran's and Sirusho's voices are extremely amazing.
I liked the intro too, very cool and smooth, so you can predict something big is coming after, the voice of Tiko and Sirusho.
All I can say is Bravo to Murzo for this unique music arrangement, Bravo to Tigran for choosing a hit song like this, and a big kiss to Sirusho.
Mayrik
This song is completely different from any other song we had before dedicated for mothers. It is a clear message from a mature man to his lovely mother with a flashback of some good memories.
Nothing childish is found here, not the melody, nor the lyrics except a small part in the 2nd verse, where the artist adopts a baby way of singing. He cuts the ending of the words, which makes his voice more soft and smooth.
Mnam Havet
One of my favorites in this CD, but I always enjoyed hearing this performing live on the stage from the artist himself.
A strong inspiration from Alejandro Sanz music, which is very dear to both the singer and composer. It's not copied from Sanz music; it is a pure inspiration in a unique music arrangement put in honest words and comes out in a sad and innocent voice full of longing and passion. No one can perform this song better than Tigran himself.
This is not a typical Hayko arrangement, there is something Heavenly in it, I must congratulate Hayko for his stunning work.
The lyrics are very touching, thanks to Vardan Zatoyan.
And as a last note, the song has a great video clip too, which shows Tigran in his true personality. Nice work to NUR also for the lovely necklace…:) :)
Im Pokrik
I would give this song as a gift to my own child, a sincere letter, where I advise him how to face Life's fears and challenge its bitterness.
The song had an old version in the past, but this one comes in more smooth and cool rhythm accompanied with the lovely Spanish guitar and slight effects of percussions from phrase to phrase.
There is always a difficulty to make a duet with two male singers, but in this case Hayko and Tiko make a great duet couple.
Sere Mer
This track was first performed at Ayo Song Festival back to 1998, it was and still my perfect love song. At that time I wanted hardly to meet Shushan Petrossyan to congratulate and kiss her for writing beautiful lyrics like these. If you read between the lines, you will discover a deeper meaning.
I still prefer the old version of the song, though Tigran didn't agree with me because it was too primitive but a successful experience at that time.
Mnam Havet "Remix"
This is what I call a remix track; you can dance on this all night long, it is very easy for clubbing and mixing the way the Dee jays like far away from other remix songs, where they add only a dance rhythm to the original tune.
I don't know who Serj is, but thanks for his nice work.
The original song has another remix version, which is more suitable to be performed on stage and you can hear it during Tikran's concerts.
Kez Hamar
Here comes my best part of the album.
What can I say about this song? I'm speechless.
Frankly speaking, and between us, If I was born a girl I would fall in love with the artist through this lovely song.
Here the acoustic ambience lets you enjoy the quality of Tigran's voice and its softness especially while singing the half notes.
Again the effect of Sanz music is obvious…..This is my top of the list song.
P.S. Pay attention to the sexy sound of the sax.
