Levon Malkhasyan was born in 1945 in Yerevan. As a musician, he was self-taught and by 1963-1964, he had already established the first Jazz Trio and Jazz Quartet in Yerevan. In 1998 he bacame the organizer of the International Jazz Festival in Yerevan. He is also the president of Jazz Art Association. Participant of many jazz concerts and festivals in many countries of the world, Levon Malkhasyan is considered the father of jazz in Armenia.
