This is a poetic film about the lot and creative art of an outstanding Armenian poet Sayat-Nova (XVII century). The director depicts the childhood, adolescence, love, death, and immortality of the singer through symbols and allegories.
The first author??™s cut of the film was screened only in Armenia. It was only after Sergey Yutkevich??™s editing that the film was allowed to have distribution throughout the Soviet Union.
